The study of Slavonic translations of biblical texts and their editing during the medieval period, the principles of transmission of Greek linguistic units by different translators and different translation schools. 

Prof. Pichkhadze conducts similar research in the field of Old Russian translation activity: the specifics of Old Russian translations and their differences from South Slavonic translations, the textual tradition of Old Russian texts, and the determination of the original type of written monuments. 

The other sphere of her research includes questions of lexicology and grammar of Old Russian and Church Slavonic, functioning of different linguistic units in different genres and different texts, interaction of Old Russian and Church Slavonic languages.
