CORE Academy is pleased to share news of the upcoming International Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop (iNOW 2026), which is scheduled to be held in Beijing and Tianjin in August 2026 and will be hosted by Tsinghua University. Since 2006, iNOW has served as an international forum for researchers and technology leaders working in semiconductor nanostructures, optoelectronics, and photonics.

The Academy is pleased to note that Professor Dieter Bimberg, Fellow of CORE Academy and Member of the Academic Committee, will serve as a Co-Chair of iNOW 2026 and is also listed on the workshop’s Steering Committee. A pioneering physicist and one of the most influential figures in semiconductor nanostructures and quantum-dot optoelectronics, Professor Bimberg’s involvement reflects the high academic standing of the meeting and its close connection to frontier developments in photonics and nano-optoelectronics.
iNOW 2026 will bring together researchers, technology leaders, students, and postdoctoral scholars for a multi-day program focused on nanoscale semiconductor processing and synthesis, the optical and electrical properties of materials, advanced characterization techniques, and new photonic and optoelectronic devices with novel functionalities. The listed topics include quantum-dot and quantum-well lasers, photonic crystals, plasmonics, integrated photonic circuits, optical communications, microwave photonics, and photonic devices for energy, biomedical, and environmental applications.
CORE Academy is pleased to share this information with Fellows, members, and friends of the Academy who may have an interest in photonics, semiconductor science, and related fields, and warmly welcomes attention to this forthcoming workshop, with which Professor Dieter Bimberg is closely associated as Co-Chair. As preparations continue, we will be pleased to share further updates as more information becomes available.
