The visitors were received by Professor Lei Li, Member of the Executive Board of CORE Academy and Executive Director of the International Eurasian Laboratory, together with colleagues at the Center. Representatives from SUSTech and State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power also participated in the visit.

During a tour of the Center, Professor Li introduced its research portfolio, technology development, and international cooperation. He highlighted progress in new materials, including aluminium-based ceramic-insulated electromagnetic wires and high-strength, high-conductivity aluminium alloy conductors, as well as their potential industrial applications. He also outlined the development of the CORE Scientific Centers network and the broader vision of the International Eurasian Laboratory.

During the academic exchange, Professor Sun presented recent research and technology translation undertaken by his team in quantum-dot light-emitting materials, Mini/Micro-LED technologies, glasses-free 3D displays, and metasurface waveguide-based augmented-reality displays. Professor Hu shared advances in wireless power transfer and advanced power electronics, including wireless power systems for sensors, electrical appliances, and industrial applications, and discussed possible pathways from engineering research to practical deployment.

Participants exchanged views on potential collaboration in optoelectronics and advanced displays, wireless power transfer, advanced materials, green energy, and intelligent equipment. Professors Sun and Hu also offered recommendations on the Center’s research priorities, project development, technology translation, and platform building.

Particular attention was given to the development and future directions of the International Eurasian Laboratory. A major initiative of CORE Academy, the Laboratory is being developed not as a single-site facility, but as a distributed international framework connecting universities, academies, research institutes, scientific centers, laboratories, and innovation partners across Eurasia and beyond.

Building on its first institutional foothold in Baku, participants discussed how the Xinjiang Scientific Center could contribute to the Laboratory’s emerging presence in China and its wider international network. Possible areas of cooperation included joint research projects, academic visits, early-career talent development, engineering validation, technology transfer, and closer connections between scientific research and regional industrial needs.

The visit brought together complementary expertise in advanced optoelectronics, wireless power technologies, materials, and engineering translation. It provided valuable perspectives for developing concrete collaborative projects and strengthening lasting institutional partnerships within the International Eurasian Laboratory.
